Prof. Dr. Pramod Talgeri, who has been till recently Vice-Chancellor of the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad , is Professor of German. Presently, he has taken over as the Vice-Chancellor of the newly founded India International Multiversity, Pune. He is also working as Advisor on the management of International Institute of Information Technology, (I2IT) Pune. He was Head of the Center of German Studies and Dean, School of Languages of Jawaharlal Nehru University , New Delhi. He has been the recipient of different academic honors. He secured his Ph.D. on Hegel's aesthetics with the highest award of summa cum laude from Munich University in 1970. He has been Fellow of the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Foundation of Germany from 1980-82. Presently he is the honorary Director of Centre for Literary Translation, Delhi . He has taken up a national translation programme "Translating India" sponsored by Sahitya Akademi (Indian Academy of Letters) on the occasion of 50th anniversary of Independence of India. As an active member of Delhi's India International Centre he has been organizing for the last two years a literary series of lectures on "20th Century Novel in World Literature". |
