The The International Institute of Information Technology (I2IT) formerly known as HOPE Foundation is a Public Trust and Society Foundation established in the year 1979 under the Public Trust Act, 1950 by Shri. Pralhad P. Chhabria, a well-known industrialist and philanthropist and Chairman of the Finolex Group of Companies and his brother Shri. Kishan P. Chhabria, Managing Director, Finolex Industries Ltd.
The Education Division of the Hope Foundation was established in 1996 with the setting up of the Finolex Academy of Management and Technology (FAMT) at Ratnagiri, the first engineering college in this relatively underdeveloped area. Spread over 35 acres of land in the M.I.D.C. area at Mirjole, Ratnagiri, the academy is affiliated to the Mumbai University and has obtained the approval of the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
Coastal Ratnagiri offers a verdant and peaceful environment, highly conducive to education. The academy’s facilities, in addition to its enormous campus, includes spacious lecture halls, laboratories housing the latest training equipment, a well-stocked library, a computer center and facilities for sports and extra-curricular activities. A highly qualified and motivated faculty ensures all support to the student community.

The Trust’s Educational Division expanded its scope with the establishment of the International Institute of Information Technology (I2IT) at Hinjewadi, Pune.
